Plum’s head of underwriting and claims has been handed a new role as board director.

Toby Daley will continue to focus on technical underwriting and profitability, while also supporting expansion in the UK and Ireland.

Daley joined Plum from Hiscox in 2007, rising to becoming underwriting manager a year later, and taking on his current role in early 2013.

Prior to his time at Hiscox, he worked at the Royal and Economic Insurance Company.  Announcing the appointment, Plum’s chairman Andrew Cross said: “Toby’s new board responsibilities combined with his continued focus on underwriting profitability will be essential to Plum as the business continues to build by increasing its rate of growth and launching new initiatives in both its established UK market and new Irish territories.”
